The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.
The BJP had fielded Ramanlal Ishwarlal Vora on the Idar assembly seat in Sabarkantha district. The tough challenger in front of him was Ramabhai Veerchandbhai Solanki from the Congress. Ramanlal Ishwarlal Vora of BJP defeated Ramabhai Veerchandbhai Solanki of INC by 39,440 votes. BJP candidate got 1,13,921 votes while Congress got 74,481 votes here.

AAP came third in this election, its candidate Jayantibhai Pranami got 14,568 votes, which was only 7.05 percent of the total votes. That is, the AAP candidate could not even save his deposit. Whereas, NOTA got 3,568 votes.
BJP got victory in 2017
The BJP had won this assembly seat in the 2017 assembly elections. In this election, BJP had made Heetu Kanodia its candidate from this seat. He defeated Manibhai Vaghela of Congress by 14,000 votes. A total of ten candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the remaining eight candidates were forfeited.
BJP registered seventh consecutive victory
The BJP had given ticket to former MLA Ramanlal Ishwarlal Vora in place of sitting MLA Heetu Kanodia from Idar seat. The BJP has won seven elections here so far. BJP has won this seat for the seventh consecutive time. From 1995 to 2012, Ramanlal Ishwarlal Vora contested on behalf of the BJP and won all the elections for the party. However, he was not given a ticket in the 2017 elections. After five years, once again Vora won from here. The Congress has won here only thrice so far. The last time a Congress candidate won from here was in 1980.
Congress had won four seats in Sabarkantha district in 2017.
In the last assembly elections, BJP candidates had won three out of seven seats in Sabarkantha district, while Congress candidates were successful in winning four seats.
